“Couldn’t be happier! Fantastic job! Excellent! Delighted!”

Annabel Galloway and her partner purchased their period home in September 2017, and set out to extensively renovate their sandstone property.

They were keen to retain the character and style of their home that dates back to 1867, and replacing 21 single glaze sash windows was a key part of their home improvement project. The existing sash windows had very old wooden frames and many of the windows had been painted shut over the years.

Annabel and her partner visited a number of window suppliers, including Scotia Windows & Doors showroom in Glasgow. They wanted to inspect the quality of the products and carefully choose the correct style and finish to complement their home.

After viewing a number of windows from various suppliers, they decided the product quality from Scotia was superior to others and obtained a highly competitive quote for 21 double-glazed u-PVC windows with a wood grain finish. The couple were also impressed with the ten year product and installation guarantee, although conceded that they do not think it will be required.

Scotia’s surveyor visited their home to measure each window, check proportions, and to discuss the fitting and finish. The surveyor discussed the internal finish regarding the surrounding woodwork and window sills, and confirmed the best way to install the new windows with minimum disruption.

Annabel was highly impressed with the surveyor’s knowledge and expertise and felt confident that the new windows would be in keeping with the period style of their home.

customer’s scheduling requirements

The renovation project involved multiple tradesmen and the home owners were keen to have the windows installed on a specific date. Scotia were extremely accommodating and agreed to meet their customer’s scheduling requirements. Two installation teams were employed to quickly replace the windows and ensure minimal disruption.

The fitters explained in advance exactly which windows would be replaced each day so that furniture could be moved and covered in advance; this meant the couple could plan ahead and made their life much easier. The installation process took four days to complete as expected.

new windows have exceeded their expectations

Our delighted customers have confirmed that their new windows have exceeded their expectations, and look like they have always been part of their period home. Annabel believes the Scotia team could not have been better, and she has absolutely no qualms in recommending Scotia Windows & Doors to others.
