Composite Door Range

Our composite door range from Palladio is a totally unique product with no other composite door on the market today manufactured with the same attention to detail. The door uses a unique Monocoque construction which provides great strength, rigidity, insulation and security. Our composite door is a 68mm door leaf with a double rebate, this means that the door has two seals, one on the front edge of the door and the other on the back to provide substantial weatherproofing and insulation. Standard composite doors are generally fitted with a 70mm outer frame but the largest area of the door, the door leaf, is normally only 44mm thick and is single rebate, or single seal. As the door leaf represents the largest exposed area of the door the 68mm leaf is 55% thicker than standard composites resulting in superior insulation.

Composite Doors Manufacturing

Another unique feature of the door is the manufacturing process. Each door leaf design originates as a solid oak design which is made using traditional methods. A detailed mould of the design is made which captures every detail of the original (it replicates the graining exactly as it is in a timber product). The door is available in twelve beautiful colour options however the application of the colour is another unique feature of these products. Many standard composites are coloured and then set into white PVC-u outer frames creating a white border all around the door, some will spray paint this to resolve this issue but clearly a family door can be opened 25-30 times a day and in some cases the spray painting will just not take this sort of wear and tear. The Palladio door uses the same wood foils used to create PVC-u rosewood windows and PVC-u light oak finishes but these are applied across the door leaf and the outer frame.

For them basic white just isn’t right. They also demand a wider range of colour and finish options than ever before. Here at Scotia, we can give you a wide choice of colours without the usual huge increases in price.

DOOR ENERGY RATING

BFRC issue door energy ratings based on the specification of each individual door we produce.

The ratings are produced in the form of a label with the best rating band being “A” to the poorest performing band “G”. When Scotia replace your existing domestic doors we are providing you with a Band “A” door as standard.

SECURE BY DESIGN

Scotia has a number of products which have been assessed by Secured by Design and are proud to confirm that these products exceed the requirements. If we are replacing your windows these features will be fitted as standard.

Results And Finish

Results in our range achieving exceptional U Values which are as low as 0.85Wm²K (the lower the U Value the better the insulation).

The most colour fast and durable method of applying colours to PVC-u products in the market today not only ensuring uniform colour but a hard wearing, colourfast and durable finish.

Many people find that a timber entrance door can stick or swell over time requiring repair and eventual replacement.

Timber is no longer the only choice and Scotia offers a range of composite doors that have the look and feel of a timber door without any of the common problems such as cracking, twisting and bowing. They are also very low maintenance in comparison to timber maintaining their look and feel with minimum effort.
